Queen Mary Stakes Picks

Day Two kicks off with the Queen Mary Stakes, which is for horses aged two and it covers a distance of five furlongs. Karl Burke has been firing with his juveniles this season, meaning that Zelania should be difficult to beat.

However, the unpredictable nature of sprint races means that there could be better value elsewhere. Therefore, Ipanema Queen could be an intriguing selection for Adrian Murray.

The two-year-old filly looked extremely professional on her debut at the Curragh last month, as she quickly put five lengths between herself and the field. She is naturally quick, and therefore, this stiff five furlongs should play to her strengths.

Free Pick:

  • Ipanema Queen

Duke Of Cambridge Stakes Picks

A mile will be covered in the G2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot on day two. Cinderella’s Dream should be difficult to beat for the team of Charlie Appleby and William Buick, while One Look and Running Lion also deserve respect.

However, Fallen Angel has tons of back form to like. Porta Fortuna narrowly beat the Karl Burke filly in the G1 Matron Stakes at the end of last season, and will have her ideal conditions at Ascot on Wednesday.

A line can be put through her return run at Newbury, as she needed the run when finishing sixth against the colts and geldings in the G1 Lockinge.

Free Pick:

  • Fallen Angel

Prince of Wales’s Stakes Picks

A red-hot renewal of the G1 Prince Of Wales’s Stakes serves as the feature on day two at Royal Ascot. The field will compete over a mile and two furlongs, and Aidan O’Brien’s Los Angeles is likely to be the clear favorite after winning two from two this season.

However, it was hard not to have been taken aback by the performance of Andrew Balding’s See The Fire on her second start this season when beating a talented field by 12 lengths in the G2 Middleton Fillies’ Stakes.

The four-year-old has always threatened to be a serious competitor at this level, and she could be contender flying under the radar for the feature on Wednesday.

Free Pick:

  • See The Fire
